PWM #1 - The last week of September

Some months ago I said that I wanted to start planning my life more and for it, I would use my Kikki K planner that I bought last year. The thing is... I just said it and then, I didn't do it LOL
But this week I decided to register how my pages looked like at the end of the week. I will be very honest, it is very difficult to decorate pages, because here in Brazil is not so easy to find nice stickers to use like those american girls do it. I wish I could buy lots of different stickers at Etsy, but I know that If I buy it, I would wait forever to see those stickers in my hands.
But, anyways, I used what I had, and that was some decotapes from Daiso, some stickers that I bought two years ago on Aliexpress and the stickers that came with my Kikki K personal.
I will try to find some printable stickers and find a place to print them, but let me say that I didn't like my week spread. I thought I had too much space for the weekend activities and less space for my weekday activities. I will probably change this next week and I don't know if I am going to do a month spread for October, I'll think about it tomorrow.

I don't know if this is going to be a weekly kind of post, but I hope I can update you more on my planning addiction.

See you guys soon

Downton Abbey and why you, your mother, your dog and everybody should see it

Today is the Emmy 2016, and I can't stop thinking that it is the last year that Downton Abbey will be among the nominees. It is very hard, for a person that doesn't watch it to comprehend how marvelous this serie can be, because if you try to give a synopsys it is just a story about a regular family living in a big house, but for those who watch it we know there is something more to it.

The series, set in the fictional Yorkshire country estate of Downton Abbey between 1912 and 1925, depicts the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their domestic servants. They have to deal with great events in history having an effect on their lives and on the British social hierarchy. Such events depicted throughout the series include news of the sinking of Titanic; the outbreak of the First World War, the Spanish influenza pandemic, and the Marconi scandal; the Irish War of Independence leading to the formation of the Irish Free State; the Teapot Dome scandal; and the British general election of 1923, the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, and the Beer Hall Putsch. The final season introduces the rise of the working class during the interwar period and hints towards the eventual decline of the British aristocracy.

As you can see it, for the amount of events, this story is full of depth, we can observe how an entire society reacts to different circunstances and events. I believe that this is what facinates me the most, because it is not every day that we can watch such a well written story, from beginning to the end, all the characters had their stories completed and well explained.

The three sisters that live in the house have completely different personalities, and you will probably fell in love with all of them at some point of the story. One of my favourite characters is Violet Crawlet (Maggie Smith) and besides her temper Mary Crawley will always have a room in my heart (Michelle Dockery).

I also bought a book some years ago, published by Intrínseca in Brazil that gave more details about their researches and how they built the characters relations, the fashion and even the soundtrack (You can find the full soundtrack inside their Wikipedia page, and they are easy to download in any website)! If you become a fan, you should look for the book and in Brazil, it is called O mundo de Downton Abbey and it totally worths buying.

I could talk about this serie forever, but I know that this could be so exausting LOL
I am very excited to read Belgravia by the same man who created the serie and I know that I will love it. Maybe this is going to be on of my next readings.

I hope you guys watch it and comment with me,

ERASED | Anime Review

Erased,  known in Japan as Boku Dake ga Inai Machi,  is a fantasy/thriller mini serie told in 12 episodes. The story follows Satoru Fujinuma, a man who somehow possesses an ability that sends him back in time moments before a life-threatening incident, allowing him to prevent it from happening. When his mother is murdered by an unknown assailant, Satoru's ability suddenly sends him back eighteen years to when he was still in elementary school, giving him the opportunity to prevent a kidnapping incident that took the lives of three of his classmates.

The way things happen, the action, the carisma of the characters is simply impossible to describe. The soundtrack is also way too good to try to explain it. And the mistery is very coherent from begging to end. When I was watching the last episode with my fiancé I felt sad and orphan of a serie of 12 episodes of 20 minutes each, or saying in other words, something pretty damn short LOL But I think that's why is so magical, because if it was bad, I wouldn't feel so moved in such a short period of time.
I strongly recommend this anime <3 and I believe that in one weekend it is totally possible to enjoy it and be amazed by it. (And if you enjoyed Stranger Things, this could be a nice addition to your anime's recommendation)

I hope you guys like my first anime review,

Harry Potter, fifteen years later

I've been thinking about reading Harry Potter all over again for some time (time=years), mostly because I don't remember what I felt reading those books, and maybe because with the age, I thought I could see something more in the story.

The experience was something complete different to what I was used to, specially because I've never properly reread a book, I always go to those special parts and skip the unpleasant ones. But not this time. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone was totally different, I started in the first page and I didn’t skip one single word! I was excited to see what was going to happen and even though the movies were incredible, there were some pieces of the story that I could only relive reading the book.
I am not gonna talk about the plot itself because I think everybody knows what happens in the story, but I will make some considerations about it:
  • I totally forgot that in the begging the two boys were not so found of Hermione, and she was a little bit excluded for being nosy, and etc.
  • I also felt very happy, when I read that Hermione liked to do reviews and colour-coded her notes at school. How nerdy she was and we didn't even give her the enough credit
Hermione, however, had more one her mind than the Philosopher's stone. She had started drawing up revision timetables and colour-coding all her notes. Harry and Ron wouldn't have minded, but she kept nagging them to do the same.
  • How rude Dumbledore can be sometimes LOL he makes fun of the kids in their faces and it's totally ok. In the chapter that they are talking about the the Mirror of Erised, the sequence of scenes is very funny, because this Master of Witchcraft can also be the Master of the HUE and nobody will notice
  • Last but not least, how I love Fred and George Wesley! Their scenes are always light and funny to read. I look forward to read more about them as the story goes by
  • METAPHORES! I loved the metaphores that J.K. Rowling created in her book and how poetic and simple they are for a kid to understand it. I felt pleased as an adult, and I remember that was really amazed by them fifteen years ago, too.

Well, of course I will continue this saga, but I don't know when I am going to start the second book, the important part is that this year I want to read at least the four first books and also watch the movies again, as part of the RadcliffeProject

I hope you enjoy it!

And I will be watching you | TheRadcliffeProject

Since I saw Horns, I've been thinking about watching all those movies that Daniel Radcliffe was acting in it, and I didn't give the proper attention.
I've always liked the way he acted after Harry Potter, and to this project I will watch all of his movies and some tv series that he was part of the cast, but not the ones that he made an special appearance, like The Simpsons for example.

  • David Copperfield BBC TV mini series (1999)
  • The tailor of Panama (2001)
  • Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone (2001)
  • Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets (2002)
  • Harry Potter and the prisoner of Askaban (2004)
  • Harry Potter and the Globet of Fire (2005)
  • Harry Potter and the order of the Fenix (2007)
  • December boys (2007)
  • My boy Jack (2007)
  • Harry Potter and the Half bood prince (2009)
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (2011)
  • The woman in Black (2012)
  • Kill your darlings (2013)
  • Horns (2013)
  • The F world (2013)
  • A young doctor's notebook (2012-)
  • The gamechangers (2015)
  • Victor Frankenstein (2015)
  • Swiss Army Man (2016)
  • Now you see me 2 (2016)
  • Imperium (2016)
This project will start in September, but I am not gonna choose a number of movies to watch per month, I 'm just going to watch as I feel like doing :) I believe this is going to be a nice experience and I can think about lots of different actors and actresses that I would like to know better, too.
If you want, please join me!
